3rd Prize - Goldsmith Festival Poetry Competition

Deborah's poem 'Ntounias' won third prize in the 2024 Goldsmith Festival Poetry Competition.

The Goldsmith Festival exists to commemorate and celebrate the life and work of Irish writer Oliver Goldsmith - you can read more about him here.

There was a prizegiving and reading ceremony at Pallas (the birthplace of Goldsmith) on June 2nd, which unfortunately Deborah was unable to attend, due to the distance. However, the poem was read out by one of the festival organisers at the event, and they were kind enough to send a video over of that performance.

Deborah's poem was inspired by a trip to Ntounias in Drakona, Crete.

You can see some videos of this incredible place here and here.
