The Ver Prize

Deborah's poem 'When David Bowie is my dad, Ziggy Stardust walks me to school every day' was selected for the Ver Prize and published in the 2023 anthology.

Ver Poets is a poetry society based in St Albans, and the annual poetry prize was judged this year by Julia Webb. Julia lives in Norwich where she is a poetry editor for Lighthouse, teaches online and real world poetry courses, mentors writers, runs Norwich Stanza and works for Cafe Writers. Julia's books 'The Telling', 'Threat' and 'Bird Sisters' are all published by Nine Arches Press.

Deborah also read at the prize-giving and reading event over Zoom on July 15th.
